An angry pastor has threatened a libel suit and ordered penance from a young mom who has written a blog post about her 5-year-old son, who she suspects might be gay. The hugely popular My Son is Gay post by anonymous mom "Sarah" details her son's experiences in a church preschool and the pain of dealing with criticism from other parents. Shortly after she penned the post, she received a call from the church pastor who blasted her as "vindictive, disrespectful, and prideful," and told her that she had "crossed a line."
"I was completely taken by surprise," Sarah told ABC News. "Never in a million years did I imagine that response. I didn't start off defensive, but I became that way after being called so many things. When adults are bullying my son, I have no choice but to step in. I was livid that my son's well-being was never mentioned." Sarah was also given a church statement at the school, accusing her of "promoting gayness." The pastor ordered her to apologize to parents and shut down her blog, and stopped her from receiving communion. The family has since switched preschools.
