Before arriving in Salem, Dr. Jonas worked at various hospitals around the world. He was also instrumental in getting one hospital in Switzerland to "go green." While working at another hospital, he met and fell in love with a cancer patient, by the name of Rebecca. Though he knew her diagnoses was grim, Daniel married Rebecca and was determined to save her. However, her cancer proved to be too advanced and she died in Daniel's arms. Daniel had an affair with Dr. Carly Manning and Carly would later introduce him to Rebecca.
Daniel was the God-son of Victor Kiriakas and hooked with Kate and her grand-daughter, Chelsea before meeting Chloe.
Carly came back to town and found out that Melanie was her long-lost daughter! Carly also revealed that Melanie's Dad was Daniel!
Jealous, Chloe hooked up with Phillip and discovered she was pregnant. Who was the Daddy? A DNA test proved it was Daniel's Baby. Baby Parker was Daniel's 2nd chance to be a father. Oops, turns out sweet Caroline switched the test to keep Phillip away from his child. The truth came out and Daniel dumped Chloe and turned to Jennifer. Jennifer's Ex, Jack returned and reunited. Later, Daniel learned that his long-lost mother was the respectful, Maggie Horton! Wandering Daniel, hooked with up with town tramp, Nicole.
Pregnant Nicole became desperate when Jennifer came back to Daniel's orbit and schemed to keep them apart. The stress caused a miscarriage and a crazy Nicole went after Jen with a knife! Nicole fell down the stairs and blamed Jen for the death of her baby. Nicole changed her story if Daniel left town with her. Daniel spoke to Nicole's Doctor and learned the truth. This week, Daniel Confronted Nicole and kicked her to the curb. Will Daniel find happiness with Jennifer or hook up with Brady? STAY TUNED!
