(OUTscene TV) SIFF 2012: MK chats w/ the legendary, Sissy Spacek on the SIFF Red Carpet!

by MK Scott

One of the Highlights from SIFF is when legendary stars come to town to be honored with a Lifetime achievement in acting award for the Golden Space needle awards. Like last years winner, Ewan McGregor, it was a glorious evening and a chance to remember the career of one of the greats. This year SIFF honored Academy Award winner, Sissy Spacek by screening her 3 greatest films including "Carrie", "Coal Miners Daughter" and finally "Badlands". I spoke to Miss Spacek on the Red Carpet.

Upon receiving her award, she sat down with Time's Richard Corliss for a 2 Hour conversation that included clips from all her films. Later, after a quick break, Corliss introduced the screening of 1973's "Badlands". It was Spacek's first starring role and she co-starred with one of my faves, Martin Sheen. (I interviewed Sheen in 1992).
