Just 2 years ago, Tony Tripoli was a LA Based Gay Comic/Actor/Writer for the Style Network's 'The Dish' and I asked him to contribute to a segment on the OURview series. I begged him to come to Seattle to perform LIVE and finally Tony was able to book the Jewel Box Theater, the Basement speakeasy at the Rendezvous this past weekend.
I attended Tony's first out of three performances of a 'Tale of two GRINDRS' this Last Saturday and was so proud. As you may know, his Star is rising as the Head writer for Fashion Police on E! and has opened for his Mentor, Joan Rivers. Nearly most of Joan's material these days is coming from Tony. He is become a major player on Joan's Reality show, even going Full-Backend!
Watching him is like watching a male version of Joan Rivers."Very Crude, Very Funny and Very Classy"!
The first joke was about coming to the moldy Seattle Basement/Speak easy, when he clearly needed to be in a Bigger Venue. Tony is that Good!
Complementing Tony was Mike Gillerman, a Phoenix based Tall and Jewish Gay-comic with Seattle Roots. Mike was so Gay and Funny and he commented how great it was to play to a 95% Gay audience.
Tony came on, but not before being introduced by Joan, herself (recorded), as she did with his show in August that my producer, Stewart got on Tape.
It was refreshing for Seattle to get one of the finest Gay comics and rising stars. When he returns, he deserves a bigger show in a bigger venue.
