Will needed a wise friend on this day. He bumps into Marlena and
tells her he doesn’t think he’s gay after all. She listens patiently
then talks to him about what a beautiful life he can have – all the
things he thinks he can’t have if he’s gay.
I know there are a lot of gay kids out there watching and these are
words they need to hear because, sadly, they are not likely to be
hearing it from their parents.
There’s a rivalry developing between Marlena and Will’s other
grandmother, Kate, who wants to be his confidante. While she appears to
be supportive, she doesn’t have Marlena’s connection with the young man.
