According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the case is to be dismissed with prejudice, “meaning the defendant cannot be sued by the plaintiffs again in the same alleged offense.”
The terms of the settlement are confidential. New Birth released a statement, essentially requesting everyone to move to higher ground.
“This decision was made to bring closure to this matter and to allow us to move forward with the plans God has for this ministry.”
The four men alleged Long used gifts and influence to coerce them to give up the booty. The bishop denied the charges, but never really explained why he sent phone pictures of himself.
So Long gets to walk away from a homo sex scandal. And his flock? They can act like everything is OK.
“It doesn’t make me think he’s guilty or anything,” Kamelya Hinson said to the newspaper. “I decided when this came out that I loved my pastor unconditionally. Even if he came out and grabbed the mike and said ‘I’m guilty,’ it wouldn’t change the way I feel about him.”
