Don't Ask, Don't Tell may be on its way out, but it's not gone yet: West Point won't let a lesbian former cadet get back in because the law remains in place, reports the AP. Katherine Miller left the military academy after her sophomore year last August in protest over DADT. She applied for readmission after President Obama signed repeal of DADT into law, but she's out of luck because the Pentagon won't have its new DADT-less policy in place until late summer at the earliest.
"While the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy was recently changed and will be repealed, the effective date has not yet been determined," wrote the academy's director of public affairs. "Due to this situation, West Point is unable to offer her readmission at this time."
