Trans Torment on the Rise in Honduras!
The pressure group Human Rights Watch has called on the government of Honduras to investigate the murders of six transgender women. The government has condemned the killings, but Human Rights Watch says it is failing to prosecute attacks on transgender people. According to leaders of LGBT organizations (lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders), 34 people have been murdered in the last 18 months. The U.S. embassy and United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) have requested the government to investigate the murders and safeguard the rights of the LGBT community, Reuters reported.
