South African Wins Mr.Gay World; The US comes in Second!

MANILA, Philippines – South African Francois Nel has been proclaimed Mr. Gay World 2011 in a recently concluded pageant held at Club Mwah in Mandaluyong.

Fellow South African Charl Van den Berg, 2010 Mr. Gay World, handed over the crown to Nel on Sunday, according to abs-cbnNEWS.com.

American Michael Kevin Holtz, 26 was named 1st runner-up followed by Spain's Israel Acevedo, Australia's Leigh Charles, and New Zealand's Aaron Comis

Windy City Times spoke to Holtz , "The opportunity to represent my country in Manila as an ambassador and spokesperson for the LGBT community and human rights was an invaluable experience that has provided me with a deeper international perspective," Holtz said. "After being named 2011 Mr. Gay World first runner-up and Mr. Gay World USA, I will be utilizing this international experience and continue to embark on a journey and build initiatives that help develop, advance and protect the rights of LGBT Americans and individuals worldwide."

Holtz is the CEO and founder of MKH2O Productions.
