The University District’s almost defunct Neptune Theatre has been saved by the Seattle Theatre Group (STG). STG owns the Paramount and Moore Theatres and has taken the reigns of Neptune in an effort to save it from going under.
STG executive director Josh LaBelle released a statement following the venture. “The core of STG's mission is to make diverse dance, music, film, theatre and arts education an integral part of our rich cultural identity; by expanding The Neptune's capacity for increased artistic diversity, STG will not only preserve the historic theater but also increase options for the community to engage with the arts.”
The Seattle International Film Festival will still reportedly have a home at Neptune.
