POLITICS: 'Morning Joe' Suspended Over Political Contributions!

Move over, Keith. MSNBC's "Morning Joe" has been suspended for two days for making eight $500 contributions to political campaigns, Politico reports. Joe Scarborough reportedly gave the money to friends and family running in local races near his home in Pensacola. "I recognize that I have a responsibility to honor the guidelines and conditions of my employment, and I regret that I failed to do so in this matter,” he said in a statement. “I apologize to MSNBC and to anyone who has been negatively affected by my actions."

MSNBC President Phil Griffin said Scarborough did not mention the contributions during a discussion two weeks ago during the Olbermann flap, but a friend says that's because the races were so small-time. “These are bullshit local races that mean nothing to Joe," the pal tells Politico. "Anybody who knows Joe’s life wouldn’t be surprised by the fact that these small, local donations were not top-of-mind. Once again, no good deed goes unpunished."
