David Moretti, the openly gay actor best-known for the here! network series The Lair, is heading to the stage, Greg in Hollywood reports.
On Nov. 18, he joins the cast of the hit comedy My Big Gay Italian Wedding now playing at St. Luke’s Theatre. The show is about planning wedding with two handsome grooms, one overbearing Italian mother, a jealous ex-boyfriend, the wedding planner from Hell, and an assortment of kooky family and friends all gather together for an evening with lots of laughs and lots of heart.
David steps into the role of Andrew which was previously played by David Robinson and Reichen Lehmkuhl.
David recently filmed Finding Mr. Wright opposite Matthew Montgomery and has also appeared in the films Murder Dot Com, and Playing With Fire.
“I am thrilled to join the company of My Big Gay Italian Wedding,” he tells Broadway World. “I love this show because audiences get to see how a gay man and his family can be just as loving, cantankerous and crazy as any other family out there. It’s hilarious and it has got such a positive message and with same-sex marriage, Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell and cyber bullying running throughout today’s headlines, that message could not be any more timely.”
