It’s that time of the season. The time when everyone (well, almost everyone, Bristol Palin is still here) left standing on that dance floor is pretty darn good, reports Fancast.
The time when every elimination from here on out will feel like a surprise (well, again, unless we’re talking about Bristol Palin). The time when it’s bound to be said, “Well, someone had to go!”
This week – week 7 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – that someone was Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke. Booing ensued from the audience out front and the peeps backstage.
“I didn’t have any idea,” said Rick Fox upon hearing the news. The choked up basketball star added, “Cheryl, amazing job!”
“This is the most shocking elimination I’ve ever been through out of all 10 seasons. But that just shows you that you really need to vote because at the end of the day no one’s really safe,” Cheryl Burke told reporters backstage after the show.
Rick told us that while he’ll miss his ‘Dancing’ peeps, he’s looking forward to getting back to his normal routine and he’s especially excited to “go see my daughter’s basketball games and swim meets.” Of the ‘DWTS’ experience, the told reporters that “it made me a stronger person. It made my relationships stronger across the board.”
Meanwhile, the 200th episode celebration continued with performances from Taylor Swift, Rod Stewart and the Macy’s Stars of Dance performance by the cast of the Broadway hit, ‘Mary Poppins.’ And, coming back for the beloved encore dance was not just one couple, but three – Team Apolo’s Jennifer and Derek, Brandy and Maks and Kurt and Anna danced their Cha Cha Cha to Tone Loc one more time.
Oh, and let’s not forget the big news of the night: the announcement of the cast of ‘Skating with the Stars,’ which includes ‘Real Housewives of New York City’’s Bethenny Frankel, skier Jonny Moseley, soap star Rebecca Budig, Disney star Brandon Mychal Smith, actress Sean Young and Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil. If you’re wondering why season 10 contestant and Olympic skater Evan Lysacek isn’t on that list it’s because he had other work obligations.
To add a little fun to the festivities, awards were given out to past ‘Dancing’ contenders. And the winners were…
Marie Osmond: Most Dramatic Moment
Kenny Mayne: Best Worst Dancer
Louis Van Amstel: Biggest Dancer Transformation
