CULTURE: YMCA Drops the 'MCA': No comment yet from the Village People

Shorter seems to be better these days: National Public Radio officially trimmed things down to NPR last week, joining KFC and AARP, among others, in the tiny name department; now the YMCA is shrinking to a single letter. The "Y," as it has long been called, is making its nickname its official name, reports the New York Times. "It’s a way of being warmer, more genuine, more welcoming, when you call yourself what everyone else calls you,” said a VP.

What are they going to call the YWCA?
