Grab a blanket and prepare for some belated fireworks when the July 5th episode of ABC’s ‘The Bachelorette‘ reunites former (and I suppose reinstated!) ‘Bachelor’ Jake Pavelka and ex-love Vienna Girardi to discuss their recent breakup.
“Hopefully, it’s gonna be some closure for me,” Jake tells TV’s Extra. “America was there and stood with me at the birth of our relationship, and I think I owe it to them and to myself and Vienna to let everybody be there at the end of it.”
As messy and public as the split has been – each party has lobbed accusations at the other – Jake harbors no second thoughts about choosing Vienna at the climax of his ‘Bachelor’ run.
“I regret what is happening right now, but I don’t regret the decision that I made,” he says. “I made the best decision on ‘The Bachelor.’”
Jake told Extra that his and Vienna’s romance was soured by “a serious lack of respect,” adding, “I would like to think that she didn’t cheat.”
He also marvels at the way Vienna has spilled her side of the story via tabloid leaks and sound bites. “If you don’t want to be with me, that’s OK. But there’s a very amicable way to split relationships up – and she did it the wrong way,” he asserts.
But wait, there’s even more Jake to come! ‘Bachelor/ette’ host Chris Harrison tells Entertainment Tonight that Pavelka “will definitely play his part” on ABC’s ‘Bachelor Pad’ spin-off series premiering August 9. Harrison declined to offer further details.
