ENTERTAINMENT: Tom Hanks On Board for ‘Bosom Buddies’ Reunion

According to Fancast:

Buffy and Hildy, together again!

Academy Award winner Tom Hanks will join Peter Scolari and other ‘Bosom Buddies‘ cast members when the retro comedy is honored at this year’s TV Land Awards.

‘Bosom Buddies’ is receiving the Anniversary Award on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. Accepting the award with Hanks and Scolari will be Holland Taylor, Telma Hopkins and Donna Dixon.

Wendie Jo Sperber, who played Amy on the series, passed away in 2005 following a battle with breast cancer.

‘Bosom Buddies’ revolved around Kip (Hanks) and Henry (Scolari), two ad men who would surreptitiously slip into dresses and alter egos to live on the cheap in a women-only apartment building.

The TV Land Awards get-together, airing April 25, marks the cast’s first public reunion since the series went off the air in 1982. Since then, Hanks has, you know, starred in and produced the occasional film and TV miniseries (e.g. HBO’s ‘The Pacific’), collecting two Oscars along the way. Scolari, in turn, has starred on such TV series as ‘Newhart’ and ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.’
