Levi Johnston's sister posed nude for September's Playboy, but because people read it for the articles, we have to listen to her babble on about her tenuous connection to the Palins of Wasilla. The New York Post has tidbits from the interview:\

HUH? Sarah Palin's Emails Make for Marvelous Poetry!
File under: Why didn't I think of this first? Editor-slash-humorist Michael Solomon has pored over Sarah Palin's email trove searching not for salacious details but for inspired verse. What he's come up with is a collection of 50 poems written by the former governor herself. And Solomon isn't wasting any time: I Hope Like Heck: The Selected Poems of Sarah Palin was published by Byliner Inc. today. The Daily Beast has excerpts, and they're, well, pure poetry.

It's WAR: Bristol Rips Levi in New Book!
Bristol Palin's memoir (Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far) is out next week, and one lucky AP writer got the assignment to score an early copy. And so we learn:
- She doesn't remember much about the night she lost her virginity to Levi Johnston because she was drunk, for the first time, on wine coolers. They were camping, and she woke in the tent alone as Levi talked to friends outside. She had wanted to wait until marriage.
- She calls him a "gnat" who "cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates" and constantly spread lies about the Palin family.
- Bristol, now 20, says her parents were supportive on hearing the news of her pregnancy. Levi's reaction: "Better be a (bleeping) boy."
- Her self-description: "Just a normal girl who couldn't hide her problems and learned a few lessons along the way."

CENSORED: Wasilla High School Bans Song by Gay Rock Legend!
An Alaska high school choir was up in arms after the principal banned a song for graduation because it was written by a gay rocker. Wasilla principal Dwight Probasco banned the 1975 Queen hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" from a graduation ceremony after complaints from parents about the sexual orientation of songwriter and lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury. “The whole thing was just ridiculous,” said a senior from Sarah Palin's hometown. “They’d played the song on the school intercom and we played it at prom. It’s a great song and the choir was really excited to be singing it. The senior class felt like it defined them."
Probasco has backed down since a student contacted a gay and lesbian organization in Anchorage for help. He has now agreed to allow an edited version of the song at graduation that doesn't include lyrics about a killing. Seniors believe the principal was worried about possible action from the ACLU, reports the Frontiersman.

GOSSIP: Bristol's Plasic Surgery Nightmare?
If you compare pictures from last year and this year, there's no denying it: There's something different about Bristol Palin's face. Maureen O'Connor noted the change on Gawker, wondering if perhaps Palin used "some of that abstinence advocacy money on plastic surgery." Of course, it could all be normal, the result of weight loss, NOT!

PAYBACK is a BITCH: Gleeful Palin Zings Exiting Katie Couric!
Not one to forgive and forget, Sarah Palin took the opportunity yesterday to kick Katie Couric now that she's down—and exiting as CBS News anchor. Couric famously put Palin on the spot in an interview during the presidential campaign when Palin was unable to name a single publication she reads regularly. Asked on Fox News about Couric's departure, Palin quipped: "Yeah I read something about that in a newspaper." She also mocked Couric's comment that the anchor was leaving her job to explore "multi-dimensional" story telling.
"Yeah, I hear that she wants to now engage in more 'multi-dimensional story telling' versus, I guess, just the 'straight on, read into the, that teleprompter screen story telling,'" Palin said. "More power to her. I wish her well in her 'multi-dimensional story telling.'" Palin has spoken often about her anger over Couric's question about her reading habits, calling it disrespectful and proof-positive that the liberal media is out to get her.

Kathy Griffin's Turn as a Christine O'Donnell-Sarah Palin Anti-Gay Teabagger Hybrid on 'Glee'
Griffin with Loretta Devine, who played a former stripper turned Nun! |
Griffin drew on Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell in her depiction (I saw More of O'Donnell than Palin). .
Said Griffin's character, who reveals that she lost her last election and "twittered" that "Obama is a terrorist": "Before we begin, I would just like to say, I am not a witch."
When the judges discuss Kurt and Blaine's duet, Griffin's character snips: "Well, boys shouldn't do a duet. The last thing we need to do is send a message to children that 'gay is okay.' It is not a legitimate lifestyle, and last time I checked, it's not in the Constitution."

Oops, Bachmann Fails History!
Michele Bachmann is making the rounds in New Hampshire today and said she'll probably decide in the summer whether she's running for president in 2012. But her first visit to the state didn't start well, notes Politico. "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world at Lexington and Concord," she said in a morning speech. "And you put a marker in the ground and paid with the blood of your ancestors." Problem is, that famous shot happened in Massachusetts.
Writes Scott Conroy at Real Clear Politics: "Bachmann's contorting of a basic fact about the fight for American independence was made all the more glaring because of her repeated references throughout her speech to the nation's founding."

Julianne Moore to Play Sarah Palin!
Maybe Tina Fey was busy. HBO has announced that it has signed Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin in its upcoming film Game Change, based on the best-selling book that dished behind-the-scenes dirt on the 2008 presidential campaign. No word yet on who'll be playing John McCain, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or John Edwards, the Hollywood Reporter notes.

Sarah Palin wants Kathy Griffin on the D-List!
Kathy Griffin has been known to take a few swipes at the Palin family, and Mama Grizzly isn’t taking that sitting down. Asked how she feels about Griffin’s upcoming stint on Glee (rumor has it Griffin will play a Tea Party-type character inspired by Palin, Politico reports), the former Alaska governor did not hold back: "She's a 50-year-old adult bully, kind of a has-been comedian," Palin said. But while she doesn’t care what Griffin says about her, she has one request: "Leave my kids alone."

POLITICS: Palin Slams Obama on DOMA, Wrongly Accuses Him of 'Flip-Flop'
The National Organization for Marriage solicited a statement from Sarah Palin on Obama's recent announcement that he finds Section 3 of DOMA unconstitutional and will refuse to defend it in court.
Writes Palin: "I have always believed that marriage is between one man and one woman. Like the majority of Americans, I support the Defense of Marriage Act and find it appalling that the Obama administration decided not to defend this federal law which was enacted with broad bipartisan support and signed into law by a Democrat president. It's appalling, but not surprising that the President has flip-flopped on yet another issue from his stated position as a candidate to a seemingly opposite position once he was elected."
Wrong since Obama has campaigned on the repeal of DOMA from the beginning!

Who Leaked the Palin Tell-All?
Who is responsible for distributing the leaked Sarah Palin tell-all? According to its authors, none other than Joe McGinniss, Palin’s former neighbor, who is also writing a book about her. A letter from the authors’ attorney to McGinniss calls the matter “no more than that of a jealous author sabotaging a competitor via unlawful and unscrupulous means.” The lawyer claims McGinniss received an “unlawfully distributed version of the Work,” which he then distributed between Feb. 16 and Feb. 18, the Anchorage Daily News reports.
